About Our Trainer

Bridlebourne’s exclusive trainer, Michelle Schlueter, has relocated from Seattle, Washington where she owned and operated her own A circuit show barn. An excellent communicator and teacher, Michelle’s goal is to make riders better overall horsemen and to take them to the highest level they are interested in reaching in the hunter/jumper circuits. She is continually learning new techniques to ensure that she stays fresh as a trainer and a rider and has had much success on the show circuit, earning numerous championships in the hunter and jumper rings.

She brings more than her training expertise to Bridlebourne, as she is also an excellent matchmaker, and is of great help when looking for a new horse through Bridlebourne Stables. Michelle is well versed in all levels of training but excels in finding young horses to finish and to fill in any gaps in their previous training with ongoing groundwork. Whether you are looking for a green or made horse, Michelle can assist you.  Most clients of Michelle, and therefore Bridlebourne, become lifetime clients. However many competitions you enter and win, or techniques you learn and master, there is never an end to your journey into riding in the hunter and/or jumper style. Michelle embraces this fact with every new rider joining her along the way.

Ashar was Champion everytime shown from Baby Green through high Pre Green Hunter divisions

Joe Black won numerous championships culminating in Overall Grand Hunter Champion at the 2004 Spring National Horse Show.  Joe was also Circuit Champion Adult Amateur Hunter at 2005 HITS Ocala where he won three out of the five weeks of the Adult Amateur Hunter Classics.  Joe continues his winning ways at his new home at Bridlebourne  

Captain won numerous championships from the Junior Hunters and 16-17 year old Equitation, Junior and Amateur Jumpers, competed and placed in several Grand Prix,

Olympus was Champion PreGreen Hunter, Champion Adequan Open Hunter at HITS Indio – Imported by Michelle

Since relocating, Michelle has brought many successes to Bridlebourne Stables, including:

Crown Royal, rode and trained to First Year Green Champion in 2005 and trained owner to  2006 Year-end Champion in Pre-Adult Equitation in the North Florida Jumper Association.

Decadent, winner from Regular Working Hunter to Level 7 Jumpers. He is now competing in the Grand Prix and was 8th in the 2007 Jacksonville Grand Prix and 3rd the 2007 Fox Lea Farm Plain Brown Wrapper Grand Prix.  Michelle imported this horse from Holland and has ridden and trained him his entire career.

Crown Jewel, is winning top ribbons from Green Conformation  to Children’s Hunter divisions.  Michelle imported this horse from Holland in late 2005 for his current owner.

Cirrus Caretano, was Champion in the Level 4 Jumper division at the 2007 HITS show in Ocala.   Michelle imported this horse from Holland in late 2005.  This horse was recently Six Year Old Jumper champion in Chicago for his new owners.
